When we are toddlers, we are normally egocentric individuals.
This egocentrism disappears by the time we become pre-schoolers and school-age.
And as we enter adolescence, this same egocentricity is (unconsciously) reborn.
Thus, by "growing up", we mean overcoming our very own egocentric ego.
The world does not revolve around you.
