What's On Your Mind?

Basically don't know.
Feel tired. Feel restless.
Bewildered. Perplexed. Confused.
In short, "windang".
A lot of things piled the "to do" list.
Want to talk. But gone. Asleep, perhaps.
Projection? Blame it?
Need strength for all of these.

RATHER PRAY.

SUPRA!

Last night was another inspiring household!

THANKSGIVING!

'Pag uwi ko, umupo ako sa sofa. Then I suddenly found myself reflecting on the events of the past; lalo na 'yung nangyari last semester (4th year, 1st sem). Just the recently concluded semester. Events flashed before my very eyes.

Duties.
Lectures.
Cluster activities.
Campus activities.

After reminiscing these things, wala akong ibang nasabi kung di, "Thank you Lord! Thank you sobra!"

LORD! SUPRANG THANK YOU!

SUPRA = Super + Sobra

Deo gratias!

Power To Succeed

EMPOWERED! It happened today. We were all empowered. All brothers and sisters of YFL Novaliches will not only be excellent in service. But today, we were empowered to go an extra mile, to give more of our all to this one area of our life, that is, our STUDIES.

As the new academic year starts (AY 2010-2011), we will glorify our awesome God through our studies. That our classmates and friends be able to see the greatness of our God in us.

With this, as members of CFC YFL, we will work more for our G.O.A.L.

GOD FIRST.
That in everything we do, we will put God first. We will connect to the One True Source of our Wisdom and Knowledge. We will connect. We will pray. Exams? Pray then study. Projects? Pray then work.

OVERCOMING OBSTACLES.
We will not run from our obstacles. Rather, we will face it. Accept it. And go through it with a heart full of trust and strength.

ATTACH OURSELVES TO THE PRICE.
Passed. 100%. Uno. License. Diploma. Dean's List. Recognition. Award. These are some of the prices we are looking for. We have to know and we have to clearly see the price in store for us, the victory that is laid for us, that they may gas up our drives to do more in our studies.

LOVE.
Above all the most important thing: LOVE! "And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. (1 Corinthians 13:2)" We are nothing if we do not love. And we have to pour our love to God, our family, our community, and we should also love our studies. Also, that we become excellent in our studies but we do not have love, we are nothing.

We also believe and trust that no matter how low we have been last year, we believe that this year will be great! This year will be awesome, simply because our God is awesome. That when we say "YES!" to our God in His love and in His plans, God is also responding to us with a "YES!". He responds with "YES my child, I will be in charge of your life! YES my child, I will be in charge of your family! YES my child, I will be in charge of your studies! Yes my child, I will be in charge of your service!" That's how great our God is! That's how mighty our God is! And He will do that to us everyday!

Also, as we enter this new academic year, we will also continue to do our part as members of the YFL E-Project. That our school is also our area of evangelization that the love of God may reach all.

Keep the fire burning!
Continue to be empowered!
We will conquer this academic year!

God bless--

With this, may God be glorified!!

I posted this same thing at Mighty C3's blog.

30 January 2010

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow

January is about to end. It is supposed to be a benign ward. Oo! Benign sa area na 'yun. Though technically, a medical ward is supposed to be a toxic ward dahil kahit anong sakit nandoon. I don't blame our head nurses; it is their requirement to hand it down to us.

I accepted the challenge. Hindi ako patalo. I do the requirements ahead of time. I keep on reminding myself about the lessons of our previous core household: "I will excel in all things!"

Ang daming bagong experiences na naranasan ko while on duty sa Amang:

  1. CBG Monitoring: I got pricked by a needle. Hepa B? No! AIDS? No! Hehe.
Furosemide. Cefuroxime. Citicoline.
  3. C.I.: "May resistance na sa line. Remove IV. We'll insert a new one. Prepare your things." C.I.: "Yes! Ikaw." Kaye: "Okay po. It's showtime! (Patay kang bata ka!) "
  5. Makagamit ng ECG. Okay, makakita lang pala kung paano gamitin.
  6. Kumausap ng patient na wala sa huwisyo. Kaye: "Kelan po birthday niyo?" Patient: "Nung nag-bagong taon kasi ganito ganyan." Bantay/Patient's SO: "Birthday niya sa February 03 pa." Benta di ba?
  7. Makakita ng patient na ang GCS ay 5. Naghihintay na lang talaga.
  8. Makakita ng patient na may schizophrenia. Psych ward din ang Medicine Ward. ' "Kinakabahan ako. Baka may pumatay sa akin", as verbalized by the patient ' , as verbalized/told by my classmate. At the end of the eight-hour shift, ubos ang kanyang 1000 cc PNSS. Sapagkat, ni-fast drip niya.
  9. Nag-cram sa case pres. Bago pa ba ito? Hehe.
Panalo! Hindi madalas mangyari 'to. Hehe.
  11. Nagkaroon ng choosy na headache. (+) Headache while inside the medical ward. (-) Headache while outside the ward. Bawal nga pala ang "(+)" at "(-)", sa doktor lang 'yun.

Ayan! Dami pala. 'Kala ko kaunti lang. As I was saying, January is about to end. Bukas, 31 January 2010, may Kick-Off Party pa kami sa cluster (YFL activity). Mamaya na pala 'yun. Puyat na naman. Haha. And to start my February 2010, bonggang final exam kami sa reproductive system na concept. At hindi pa ako nag-aaral. February 2nd, midterm exam naman sa research subject. Benta!

Kung iisipin, eksaktong dalawang buwan na l
ang and were done sa semester na ito. Tapos Holy Week na. Tapos World Youth Congress 2010 na. Yehey! Youth Camp. Yehey ulit! Tapos summer na panay duty. Benta talaga! Tapos fourth year na: ten months. Graduation. After 2 or 3 months. Boards.

For February and March, four hospital areas pa ako. And to end this semester, ang huling duty namin ay sa area na ang description ay: "Benign naman 'yung area, 'yung C.I. ang toxic!" Palong-palo!

At dahil dyan, may nag-text!
"I will trust and be not afraid. I will forever be a daughter of God. I will forever strive for holiness for the glory of God. I will ace my studies. Excel in all things. I will forever love and serve my family, friends, YFL. And above all, my God."
--Kaye

Text talaga 'yan. Kahit itanong pa sa mg
a kapwa ko core servants. Hehe. . 'Yung full name ko. 'Yan 'yung produkto ng last core household namin. Hi-tech na ang household ngayon. Gumagamit na ng mobile phone.

God is the source of my strength and forever will be!
God is my great provider and forever will be!
God is my schedule planner* and forever will be!

And all I'd be doing is praise and glorify Him! I'd be doing a separate blog on this. Masyado na itong mahaba.

Treat or Trick?

Hindi tuloy ang midterms sa research bukas. Yehey!

Very irrational.

Pwede Palang Kami Ang Salarin

Kilala ko na kung sino mga ka-away (in a sense) ng mga legislative people regarding population control. Walang iba kundi mga: STUDENT NURSES.

Bakit??

In short sa bawat isang estudyante, may tumbas na halos 15 cases of deliveries.

Kuha tayo ng 3 students for PRC completion. 'Yung tatlong 'yun maaaring makumpleto 'yung requirements by having 15 cases (lahat sila magkakaroon ng tig-lilimang cases for actual, assist, and cord care). Kaya sa classroom namin: 39 students divided by 3 groups equals 13. 13 groups multiplied 15 times (for the cases) equals 195 cases. So, 195 plus 15 equals 210 cases. Sa classroom lang namin 'yan.

Tapos 10 sections ang batch namin (sobra pa 'yung iba, like 41 or 42). Kunin na lang natin yung normal. 10 sections. 40 students. 1 section is approximately equal to 210 cases. 210 cases times 10 sections equals 2100 cases. So there is more or less 2100 live births (or some may have died) in every two years from our school's annual batches alone. Every two years sapagkat tatakbo ang completion ng isang estudyante (in line with the old nursing curriculum) starting from his/her third year level to fourth year level. Sa new curriculum, mag-start ka ng 2nd year.

Note: These are just "more-or-less figures". Purely mind thoughts.

NGAYON!! Ulitin natin. This time, literal na sagot ko.

Kilala ko na kung sino mga ka-away (in a sense) ng mga legislative people regarding population control. Walang iba kundi mga: STUDENT NURSES.

Bakit??

Simple lang. Kapag ang area of duty ay sa delivery room or sa lying-in, walang ginagawa ang estudyanteng nurse kung hindi ang MAGDASAL PARA MAY MANGANAK UPANG MAKAKUHA NG CASE AT MAKUMPLETO ANG PRC REQUIREMENTS!

As for me, I still need 4 more actual delivery cases. 3 more for assist deliveries. And another 3 for cord cases. As for major and minor operations, 5 each.

Walang nanganganak = nagdadasal na may mag-labor at mag-fully dilate into 10cm ASAP!

:)

Balik Eskwela

Ang bilis ng Christmas break! Ang alam ko ang Christmas hanggang sa Feast of our Lord's Baptism, which is on January 10, 2010.

Hay. Ayaw ko lang pumasok pa. Wala pa ko sa mood.

At dahil dyan, may nagtext!!

"'Wag mong sayangin ang iyong pagpasok araw-araw. Gawin mo akong inspirasyon."
-Baon.

Haha. Balik eskwela!
